North American Desi Idol 2009: Talent Contest Rules
How will I be judged?
You will be judged based on several criteria. Here are some areas to give you an idea:
Pitch and Tone: This area will carry 35% weight. Judges will gauge consistency in pitch, and voice quality.
Rhythm: This area will carry 20% weight. Judges will gauge the consistency of rhythm and how well the singer, keeps to the beats.
Expression: This area will carry 20% weight. Judges will gauge how well the singer conveys the mood of the song, with what feel the song is sung and the expressions conveyed by the singer.
Presentation: This area will carry 15% weight. Judges will gauge how well the singer gathers audience attention, her/his confidence and energy with which the song is sung.
Additional credits: This area will carry 10%. Judges will give additional credits for innovations, song selection, song difficulty, voice range etc.
Note: Judge's decision will be final. Please trust their judgement and avoid any argument concerning the selection process. The judges will be glad to provide feedback during and /or after the auditions.
Can winners from previous years participate?
Most certainly!
Are professionals allowed to participate?
Yes. The competition is open to all that meet age requirements
Can I sing songs in regional languages?
Yes. You can sing in any language.
I live outside North America. Can I participate?
Yes, of course!
What is the cost of registration?
The Audition Fee is non refundable US $30.Register online is $20.
How many songs Do I have to sing in audition?
One Song/Performance of your choice ( bring your own music/Karoake ) and Judges may ask for more.
